The EX-1580SHMVS USB 3.2 Gen 1 (formerly USB 3.0 or 3.1 Gen 1) Managed Metal Hub with ten screwable downstream ports offers comprehensive and unique features for industrial applications. It can be managed by multiple users over the network. The EX-1580SHMVS supports the USB Battery Charging Specification v1.2 (SDP, CDP, DCP) as well as some manufacturer specific charging modes such as Apple 2.4 A and Samsung. It can be used in automation, industrial and office applications, and its well-designed enclosure allows it to be mounted on the wall, under a table or in a 19" rack.
The EX-1580SHMVS comes with management software that allows you to turn on/off the USB bus voltage (ports) of individual devices or reset the entire USB hub. It has a flash memory to store the desired start state. The EX-1580SHMVS software package includes a range of cross-platform management utilities, including a graphical user interface (GUI) and utilities for major versions of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS and various versions of Linux. These are designed to work seamlessly with application software written in a variety of languages including C#, C++, VB, Python or even the server scripting language PHP.
Server/client software is also available for Windows, enabling seamless remote sharing of USB ports as servers.
Client mode: The client software is installed on the computers to search for, connect to, and disconnect USB devices on the server side.
Server mode: The server software is installed on the computer that connects to the EX-1580SHMVS to share USB devices on the hub with all clients.
Control mode: In control mode, the user can turn USB devices on or off by enabling or disabling their USB bus power. The control function is not only supported by a GUI, but it can also be integrated with application software using the supported API for different platforms.
