RS-232 to RS-422/485 Converter with 15KV Surge Protection & 2.5KV Isolation
The EX-47900IS RS-232 to RS-422/485 converter with 15KV ESD surge protection and 2.5KV isolation, can be used for any PC, workstation or server with an RS-232 interface. The EX-47900IS is equipped with a 9 pin female connector that you can connect directly to your RS-232 serial port. It converts unbalanced, full-duplex RS-232 signals to balanced full or half-duplex RS-422 / 485 signals. An adapter from 9 pin connector to 5 pin terminal block is supplied with the EX-47900IS.
Interface RS-232:
- Signal: TxD, RxD, RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, DCD, GND
- Loop Back Wiring: RTS to CTS, DTR to SDR and DCD
Interface RS-422/485:
- Two modes are selectable:
- 4-wire RS-422 (TXD+/-, RXD+/-, Half-duplex)
- 2-wire RS-485 (Data+/-, Data+/-, Full-duplex) - ATTA: Supports RS-485 Auto Transceiver Turn Around Feature, Supports Echo Mode for RS-485 mode
- 15KV ESD Surge Protection for all line and 2.5KV Isolation
- Terminator: 120 Ohm, can be enabled/disabled by DIP switch
- Port-powered from RS-232 Lines, external power source supported, but not required in most cases
